Responsibilities

Verizon's Consumer and Mass Business Market's Position is responsible for supervising 20-25 Outside Plant Field Technicians supporting Copper and Fiber networks - construction, installation and or maintenance for customer circuits, FTTP, FTTC, Hi Bandwidth for Verizon's voice, data and video entertainment services. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to hold self and his/her team accountable for results by establishing clear roles, and responsibilities, tracking and managing team and individual performance; analyzing of the individual performance for safety, productivity and quality of work performed by technicians assigned to them to meet organizational targets. The right candidate will use sound judgment and organizing/prioritizing skills, and act with the highest integrity to achieve goals. The qualified candidate will need to be able to think creatively and progressively to both identify and implement changes to improve business results. Responsibilities include but not limited to, preparing daily work schedules, dispatching technicians, conducting field inspections, quality reviews, safety observations, and daily field visits to identify /remove roadblocks. The selected candidate will be required to work with and communicate effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds in order to motivate and engage a team to achieve results, as well as work effectively across organizations having regular interaction with Verizon customers, technician base, management team, dispatch resource center, engineering, and union delegates. The position also requires administering the Verizon processes and policies as they relate to: safety, attendance, performance, productivity, quality, work rules and code of conduct. This position is accountable for all aspects of training, development and compliance to corporate safety policies. Requirements may also include weekend duty, on call, and extended hours as necessary with required travel at times. Drivers license required.

Qualifications
 
Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service voice, data and video entertainment (installation, maintenance, splice, or telecommunication circuitry) and/or related field operations
Candidate should possess strong communication skills, be well organized and able to motivate employees to exceed service objectives.
Strong interpersonal skills. Can work well in a team environment.
2+ years supervisory experience in a field operations environment, union employee management preferred
Candidate should possess strong communication skills, be well organized and able to motivate employees to exceed service objectives.
Strong PC skills- Excel, Outlook, MS Word.
College degree preferred.
