Acer C720P Chromebook Review

The finest Chrome book is an amalgam of the high-end touch and low-end price. The Acer C720P has both as compared to the rest of the Chromebooks currently available in the market.

acer c720p chromebook review

First of all, the Acer C720P boasts the latest Intel processor. This renders the Chromebook more of a laptop than a Smartphone or a tablet PC. If the user intends to use the device as a personal computer then, the Acer C720P is the first and the foremost choice. It offers all the trappings and the ports that you usually find inside a good laptop. The keyboard is not exceptional, but it does work fine enough. The trackpad is, infact, exceptional. The device is good for non-stop working.

There are markable differences between the C720P and its less costly counterpart, the C720. The former has a touch capability as well as a 32 GB hard drive. The cheaper version has only 16 GB. Of course, for workaholics, the touchscreen doesn’t really make a difference, however, it is a pleasant addition. It always feels good to navigate through a web page with the help of your fingertip. With the introduction of latest apps, the touchscreen simply becomes very important.

There is only one problem with the Acer – its design. The device is neither cheap nor can it be easily broken. Infact, it weighs around 3 pounds making it easily portable. The design, though, is not very attractive. There is simply nothing that will excite a user. Almost all of its contemporaries are good looking in comparison.

If you are one of those persons who don’t care about the exterior of an electronic device, you will realize that apart from the design, the Acer 720P does not have any other flaws. It works extremely well.

The Acer C720p Chromebook is a renewed version of the C720P that was publicized in 2013. The latest version has been given a white alteration.

The device costs around £250 and features almost the same specifications as the original one. It has a touch-screen display. The Chromebook is powered by Intel processor.

The connectivity of the Chromebook is the same as in the previous version. The user may find the USB at the right side of the device. The earphone jack is right beside the power port located on the left. At the back is a 3G card compartment. The 3G allows you to connect to the internet when there is no Wi-Fi available. The Chromebook also features a High definition webcam that allows you to take pictures as well. Though, the quality of the image is not at par.

The screen offers sharpness and clarity. The text on the websites is very sharp and easily eligible.  The videos are very clear as well. Keeping the price in mind, the display is reasonably well.

To sum it up, the Acer Chromebook makes a few sacrifices in order to keep the cost of the device low. The two areas that suffer the most in this regard are the quality of the screen and power. Acer has managed to tackle both these issues in the latest version. The display is not anywhere near HD, it is , however, not at all bad. The battery life is unexpectedly long too.
